The second position in our list of the hottest places on Earth is held by Aziziyah, Libya. This former capital of the Jafara district was recorded to have reached a melting 58 degrees in 1922! In third place is Dallol, Ethiopia with its salt formations, acidic hot spring and gas geysers. From 1960 to 1966, it was usual to observe the thermometer’s mark reach 41 degrees and was the highest average temperature of any inhabited place on earth.
