Do you know what a pangram is? It is a holoalphabetic sentence – a sentence which uses every letter of the alphabet at least once. The best-known English pangram is ‘the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog’. In English perfect pangrams – which have exactly 26 letters – have been composed but don’t tend to make much sense. Pangrams are often used to display typefaces because they allow the reader to see what every letter in the alphabet will look like.
