Did you know flambé means flamed in French? It’s a spectacular way to cook and really gets the patrons talking. A quote attributed to The Pump Room restaurant in Chicago goes as follows – “...we serve almost everything flambe in these rooms, occasionally even a waiter's thumb. The people seem to like it and it doesn't harm the food much.”
