Interesting fact:

The first alien abduction that was widely publicised allegedly happened to Barney and Betty Hill in 1961. Two years later, they let themselves be hypnotised and described the aliens they claimed to have abducted them. Their description closely resembled an alien that was shown on TV in “The Outer Limits”, which had aired just twelve days prior.
