Sidonia von Borcke of Pomerania made herself very unpopular with the other nuns of a convent that she had joined in 1604. Because of her general fiddling, gossiping and reported involvement in illegal trading, she was accused of witchcraft and stood no chance against the trial she faced. Sidonia was executed by sword and then burned at the stake. Be careful who you gossip around!
