The last witch hunt is said to have taken place in Geneva, and it was here that Michée Chauderon, a widowed cleaning lady, suffered a predictably horrible fate. Chauderon stood no chance after being accused of casting demonic spells on children and, after a long torture, confessed to the accusations and was hanged and burned.
