New Jersey has a reputation for its shore and many things but here’s one factoid that may have slipped past you: there is a volcano in the state. The Beemerville volcano is located in Sussex County and, though it is no longer active, offers very attractive hiking trails. It’s become a desirable area for property developers too. Since the Beemerville volcano is approximately 440 million years old, we’re backing its claim in any “true, real, tough” authentic local debate.
